WELCOME IN MY ATELIER
I propose a particular way of teaching inspired by oriental philosophy and graphic Zen art, it gives sense to gestures and invites to a less dualistic vision of existence. Instead of a sense of representation, a deep understanding of the subject is developped. A bamboo can be painted as it is "seen". Observation, page-setting, sketching then colouring constitute the classical work to realize a painting of a bamboo.
For asian people a bamboo is made of 3 complementary energies which, if lived through the artist's innerside, will express the essence of the bamboo itself on the paper. No use to draw the shape first, it will appear just under the impulse of the artist.
An actor does so when he must take the part of a character : he identifies himself with it, reads and dissects the text then looks for the meaning of it, feels the atmosphere then after integrating all the particularities plays the specific energy of the character. This process near to meditation requiers a sharp attention and immediately links us to our deep self, releasing the sleeping creativity.
It is not a difficult exercise. It is more like a game where one can ease natural gestures (spontaneous for children), to observe and then control them to represent a feeling or a landscape in an abstract or representational way. Doing so, everyone can free its own expression finding the creative source inside oneself.
Whatever the age of the participants or their knowledge they will follow the same progress. Only the techniques, the themes and the language will be adapted to each situation. When required this approach goes with therapeutic psychological or physical supports (see artherapy).
